Noha Syam

Noha Syam has a BA in Statistics with a minor in Management from FESP at Cairo University. She was selected for a fellowship to study Economics in University of Chicago, USA. Noha is co-founder of the Sinai Talks Initiative that started in June 2012 and aims to give people from the Sinai the opportunity to represent themselves to the public and speak about their problems to the world. She visited different regions across the Sinai peninsula documenting visits and publishing about the situation in social media and newspapers. In September 2012, a conference on Sinai Talks was organized that was covered widely by media, and which numerous decision-makers, political and social interest groups attended. Noha was involved in all tasks related to organizing the event with an emphasis on fundraising for the event. Her interest in marginalised people motivated Noha to join CILAS.
