ندى سلام

My name is Nada Sallam, and I work to bring about wide-scale change to communities around the Arab World through social entrepreneurship. I am part Egyptian, part Italian, and part Belgian, and have lived in Saudi Arabia, Canada, the Netherlands and Egypt. Despite this, I’ve often felt that my educational and professional experiences have lacked sufficient diversity. This is where CILAS comes in... With an opportunity to learn from and interact with people from a wide array of backgrounds, as well as to engage with theories from the East (non-Eurocentric and subaltern literatures – shout out to Anne), I believe I’m finally getting the enriching experience I’ve always looked for. On an aside, I really like basketball, and I REALLY like rap (think Mos Def, not Waka Flocka), so feel free to reach out if you’re interested in watching and/or listening session with me :)
